This catalog is incorporated within the framework of a research project that we undertook on the 1958 Venice Biennale, which marked a real turning point for the post-war Spanish art scene. More than sixty years after this major event, it brings together press articles and first-hand accounts by curator Luis González Robles and the six artists he selected to represent Spain: Rafael Canogar, Eduardo Chillida, Louis Feito, Manolo Millares, Manuel Rivera, Antonio Saura and Antoni Tàpies. The book includes transcriptions of dialogues between Pere Portabella and Vicenç Altaió, as well as between Wilfredo Prieto and Rosa Lleó. Explore the reception of this occurrence and its enduring significance in garnering international acclaim for post-war Spanish artists, a relevance that persists even today.  In addition, the catalog showcases the twelve works presented at the exhibition in our Barcelona space and reveals archival images of the same works at the 1958 exhibition in Venice. The texts are translated into English, Spanish and Catalan.
